The Pleaser loves to please! They'll say or do almost anything to please another - almost like a robot. They smile and are virtuous beyond belief sometimes. Behind that smile and that pleasing manner, though, is someone who can barely function unless told exactly what to do and that becomes a burden on any manager unless, of course, you are a totally authoritarian manager.

The person who is a micromanager hovers because they do not have confidence that those around them can do as good of a job as they can do themselves. It all boils down to trust and control! We attach so much of who we are to what we do and the things we have that it can be difficult to truly delegate tasks to others. The problem with our hovering is that there is a limit to how much we can do ourselves and our micromanaging has a negative impact on our team as well.
